Norwegian Elkhound Club of the Potomac Valley

NECPV Members and Friends:

2020 has been a year for the recordbooks. The impact of the global pandemic has
been far-reaching and many of our club members have suffered losses in 2020 for
which we are truly sorry. Who would have thought when we gathered last January
that we would be facing such an unusual year?

Despite the pandemic, we had a wonderful picnic at Rosaryville State Park
organized by Judie Artman in early October which featured a tracking demo and
workshop. We had a great time and felt very safe with our socially-distanced,
outdoor event with about 15 people and numerous dogs in attendance!

Although we all look forward to our annual holiday brunch in January, the board
unanimously voted to cancel the event due to safety concerns. We are very hopeful
that by spring we can gather safely and this newsletter contains info for a picnic
along with info for our 2021 NECPV Specialty which we are very excited about!

Members are enjoying the convenience of being able to pay their dues by credit
card. In fact, 12 of our 23 paid families used that method. If you haven’t had a
chance to renew your membership we’ve included a membership form in this
newsletter for your convenience.

On behalf of the board, I wish you and your family (including your great gray dogs) a
safe and happy holiday season and extend our best wishes for the new year.
